The International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) held its 37th annual International Gaming Summit May 14 - 16 at the Four Seasons Macao in Macau, China. As a premier event that brings together leaders from all global gaming sectors, the Summit provided operators, suppliers, attorneys, investors, bankers, regulators and other advisor delegates with an unparalleled opportunity to meet and discuss the top issues facing gaming today. 

On Monday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 15, the Summit included numerous sessions focused on key topics of interest including the growing relevance of eSports, the impact of illegal gaming activities and markets on regulated gaming, the latest trends for integrated resorts, emergency planning and more. 

On Wednesday, May 16, the 2018 Summit featured two full day workshops focused on specific gaming industry
topics of interest:
  • The Global Responsible Gaming Forum focused on numerous global responsible gaming topics and concerns. Supported by the American Gaming Association (AGA), the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG), the National Council on Problem Gaming (NCPG), the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) and GamCare, the workshop's sessions focused on global innovations in the identification and treatment of gambling addiction and will highlight proactive measures operators and manufacturers can take to prevent problem gaming.
  • The Combating Financial Crime and Other Risks Within Gaming workshop focused on numerous financial crime and risk topics and concerns, highlighting best practices, regulatory requirements and more. Covering issues ranging from the latest regulatory developments on AML, fraud and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act to cyber security and how data analytics can assist in the prevention, detection and investigation of financial crime, this workshop was a must-attend for anyone interested in broadening their understanding of how to minimize these risks within their operations.
On Thursday, May 17, IAGA presented its one-day Best Practices Institute as part of G2E Asia.
